La AIJD rechaza el golpe de estado y los actos de violencia cometidos por las fuerzas armadas, la policía y todos los sectores de la oposición antidemocrática. La AIJD llama al restablecimiento del estado de derecho, la preservación del orden democrático y constitucional de la República Plurinacional de Bolivia, y una pronta investigación de los hechos ocurridos y el castigo de los responsables.
Los autores del golpe de estado, actuaron bajo el pretexto de supuesto fraude electoral ocurrido durante las elecciones presidenciales celebradas el 20 de octubre de este año, donde obtuvo la victoria del Presidente Evo Morales, tal como lo decretara el Tribunal Electoral, Plurinacional, con más de 10%. Doscientos treinta y cinco observadores internacionales reconocieron dichos resultados.
Condenamos los actos de violencia política cometidos por los sectores más reaccionarios de la oposición cometidos contra los funcionarios y altas autoridades del gobierno constitucional de Bolivia, como también contras sus familiares, que han puesto en peligro la vida y la integridad física de los mismos.
Exigimos se garantice el derecho a la libertad personal e integridad física del Presidente Evo Morales frente a los intentos de detenciones arbitrarias e ilegales como también se resguarden los derechos del pueblo que lo apoya contra cualquier acto de agresión de las fuerzas armadas y policiales.
Asimismo, condenamos los ataques que realizaron grupos violentos de la oposición contra la Embajada de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela en Bolivia, que pusieron en riesgo la integridad física de su representante, como demás miembros del cuerpo diplomático.
Hacemos un llamado a los Estados Unidos y otros estados de la región para que cesen su intervención ilegal en los asuntos de Bolivia y respeten el derecho del pueblo boliviano a la libre determinación de acuerdo con la Carta de la ONU. También pedimos a la OEA que cumpla con su propia Carta y respete la soberanía e independencia de Bolivia y otros estados de la región.
Llamamos a todas las partes en Bolivia a realizar un dialogo genuino en el marco de la Constitución y las leyes del país. Exigimos a todas las instituciones del Estado el respeto del orden constitucional.

The IADL condemns the coup d’état and the acts of violence committed by the armed forces, the police and all sectors of the antidemocratic opposition. The IADL calls for the restoration of the rule of law, safeguarding of the democratic and constitutional order of the Plurinational Republic of Bolivia, an immediate investigation into the events that occurred and the punishment of those responsible.
The authors of the coup d’état acted under the pretext of alleged electoral fraud during the presidential elections held on the 20th of October of this year, which were won by President Evo Morales by a margin exceeding 10%, as decreed by the Plurinational Electoral Tribunal. Two hundred and thirty-five international observers recognised these results.
We condemn the acts of political violence committed by the most reactionary sectors of the opposition against functionaries and high authorities of the constitutional government of Bolivia and their families, which have put their lives and physical integrity in danger.
We demand that President Evo Morales’ right to personal freedom and physical integrity be guaranteed against attempts at arbitrary and illegal detention, and that the rights of the people who support him be safeguarded against any act of aggression by the police and the armed forces.
We also condemn the attacks carried out by violent opposition groups against the embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Bolivia, which put the physical integrity of their representative and other members of the diplomatic corps at risk.
We call on the United States and other states in the region to cease their illegal intervention into the affairs of Bolivia, and to respect the right of the Bolivian people to self-determination in accordance with the UN Charter and the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights. We also ask the Organisation of American States to comply with its own Charter and to respect the sovereignty and independence of Bolivia and other states in the region.
We call on all parties in Bolivia to engage in a genuine dialogue within the framework of the Constitution and laws of the country. We demand that all institutions of the state respect the constitutional order.
